When is the day of San Jorge 2025?
The day of San Jorge will take place on April 23, 2025 and will mark the patron saint of the death of England, the Countryfile website Explain.
It is believed that he died after being tortured and executed in Palestine in around 303.
Countryfile adds: “San Jorge’s day became a national vacation in England in the early fifteenth century, stirring until tradition decreased after union with Scotland at the end of the 18th century.”
From schools in England he will ask students to get dressed for St. George’s day while learning about the story behind this.

Countryfile says: “The legend says that San Jorge killed an evil dragon who was affecting a local city and saved a princess.
“Traditionally it is a Christian celebration as the story says that St. Jorge offered to kill the dragon only if the city became Christianity.
“However, historical evidence points to the ‘true’ San Jorge, who lives in Palestine in the third century that followed in the footsteps of his father to become a soldier in the Roman army, and was executed by his Christian beliefs.
“St George is also a patron saint of Georgia and the Russian city of Moscow.”
