IPhone users operating in the old iOS software will have received a notification of the WhatsApp information issue at the end of last year that will no longer be able to execute the application on your device.
Currently, you can use the instant messaging application in iPhones with iOS 12 or Dut.
But as of May 2025, you will be asked to have iOS 15.1 or more to the continuous use of WhatsApp, according to Wabetainfo.

WhatsApp experts explained: “One of the main reasons for this change is that the newest versions of iOS include updated APIs and improved technologies in which WhatsApp is based to offer new functions.
“By not admitting previous versions, WhatsApp can optimize the application and introduce new features that would simply be possible with obsolete operating systems.”
iPhones that can no longer access WhatsApp
The iPhones affected by this change that will not be able to access Maysapp in May are:
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
These iPhones cannot be updated to iOS 15.1, which is the minimum requirement to access WhatsApp from next year, since iOS 12.5.7 is the last compatible launch for these models.
When will WhatsApp work on these iPhone devices?
WhatsApp showed iPhone users a notification period of five months, allowing them to update their devices.

Any person with an iPhone who has old software that IOS 15.1 of May 5 will be able to access WhatsApp.
