Police was called to Hillingdon Street at 9.16 pm on Monday, April 14, after multiple reports of stabbing and sightings of people carrying knives.
The officers and paramedics of the London ambulance service attended the scene, where they found a 21 -year -old man with serious injuries.
Despite his efforts, he was unfortunately declared dead on the scene.
The victim has now been formally identified as Giovanny Rendon Bedoya de Walworth.
His family has been informed and is being supported by specialized officers.
The chief inspector of detectives Kate Blackburn, who directs the investigation, said: “We know that there are several people in the area on Monday night.
“Many will have the group involved or can have crucial information that could help us.
“Were you at Hillingdon Street that night? Did you see someone acting or wearing a knife?
“Please, if you saw or listened to something, or you have images of your phone, Dashcam or Doorsbell, come. Only a small detail could be vital.”
DCI Blackburn confirmed that six people were arrested after the incident.
Of these, three have extended, Bone released without further actions and three others have been rescued while the suriries continuously.
“We are working tirelessly to find out exactly what happened and take those responsible to justice,” he added.
Detective Superintendent Emma Bond, interim BCU commander for Lambeth and Southwark, acknowledged the clash that the incident has been based locally.
“This type of violence is devastating, and I understand the fear and concern that this brings to the community,” he said.
“We have used patrols in the area this week; if you have any concerns or need support, talk to our officers.”
He also echoed the call of witnesses, urging anyone with information to contact the police on 101, citing CAD7392/14 Apr.

“Our thoughts remain with Giovanny’s loved ones at this incredible difficult moment,” he added.
The investigation is ongoing.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “On Monday, April 14 at 9:16 p.m., the police were called to Hillingdon Street, SE17 after the reports of a stabbing.
“The officers attended the scene along with the London ambulance service that treated a 21 -year -old man for weapon wounds.
“Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, he was declared dead on the scene.”
