The School of the Church of England of Santa María in Brooke Road was attacked with email threats at 6.30 am today (April 14).
Despite the threats that are considered “not credible” by the Metropolitan Police, the nursery has moved as a precaution.
The school teaches more than 500 students between five and 11 years old, while their small student nursery teaches children from one to four years.
It is believed that incidents are linked to threats made to schools in Sheffield.
A police spokesman said: “An investigation is ongoing, however, at this stage, threats are not treated as credible.”
Stella Creasy, deputy of Walthamstow, said: “I know that parents are the understandable email about St Marys email they have received this morning.
“I can confirm that the school has resorted to a threat that is being serious.
“I recognize that this is shocking, so that some threaten a school.”
She added: “The police are working with the school and with their colleagues in southern Yorkshire to stop the author.
“There is nothing to suggest in the threat made or the schools involved any faith connection with this incident.
“The school has made arrangements to support children who attend the nursery outside the site, so if their child is one of those, communicate with them to get more details.”
Threat reports were made around 6.30 in the morning of Monday, April 14.
The police continue to investigate threats and are working with the South Yorkshire police.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Around 6.30 in the morning of Monday, April 14, the police received reports from email threats for a school in Brooke Road, Walthamstow.
“The nursery has chosen to relocate as a precautionary measure, although today the students did not attend the school due to Easter holidays.
“An investigation is ongoing, however, at this stage threats are not treated as credible.
“We are working with the South Yorkshire police, since at this stage it is believed that it is linked to threats made to schools in the Sheffield area.”
