An email sent to St Mary’s elementary school this morning (April 14) is “to be serious tasks”, with the reference cures given to the parents.
The school of the Church of England in Brooke Road teaches more than 500 students between five and 11 years old, while their small student nursery teaches from one to four years.
The school was closed by Easter holidays, but the nursery was operating outside the site and has been closed by at least the morning.
The nature of the threat is not yet known, but it is not believed to have a connection with faith.
While it is the only school in Walthamstow to receive the threat, it was also sent to schools in South Yorkshire.
The nursery section has been confirmed as closed in the morning, while the police are at the site to investigate.
They are working with the police in South Yorkshire to find who sent the threat.
Stella Creasy, deputy of Walthamstow, said: “I know that parents are understandably worrying by email about St Marys school that they have resorted this morning.
I can confirm that the school has recovered a threat that is being serious. I recognize that this is shocking, for someone to threaten a school. ”
She added: “The police are working with the school and with their colleagues in southern Yorkshire to stop the author.
“There is nothing to suggest in the threat made or the schools involved any faith connection with this incident.
“The school has made arrangements to support children who attend the nursery outside the site, so if their child is one of those, communicate with them to get more details.”
The threats sent to schools in Severesend in Kent forced them to close in early February 2025.
A 17 -year -old girl from Sergesend and a 17 -year -old Finchley boy were arrested later.
The Metropolitan Police has been contacted to comment.
