The amount of cannabis published in the United Kingdom since Thailand has decreased by 90% in three months thanks to cooperation with Thai customs, said the Ministry of Interior.
When Thailand decriminalized cannabis in 2022, an increase in illegal shipments threatened with the border force of the United Kingdom, which discovered 15 tons of drugs in office in the last quarter of last year.
But a new agreement that requires that Thailand plots be reviewed before they are sent to meerate only three months later, the figure had fallen to 1.5 tons.

“Together with our partners in Thailand, this government will continue to take measures against those who try to smuggle illegal drugs on our borders.”
Thai customs has introduced stricter detection measures on the border, which has led to more than 800 cannabis smuggers being intercepted between October 2024 and March 2025, the Interior Ministry said.
More than nine tons of cannabis were seized by Thai authorities during the same period.
Last year, a record number or illegal drug seizures in the United Kingdom, with the border force and the police that discovered 119 tons, with a value of the street of £ 3 billion, in the 12 months until March 2024, an annual increase of 52%, Accordolitan Saint.

The general director of the Border Force, Phil Douglas, said: “Our work does not stop at the border, we work internationally with our partners to prevent illegal assets from reaching the United Kingdom.
“We are using advanced intelligence more than ever and last year we made a record number of drug seizures, including higher damage substances.
“The border force remains completely committed to ensuring our borders and maintaining our safe streets.”
