Foreign Minister Rachel Reeves has told the BBC that she understands what President Trump wants to address with her tariffs, before conversations with her American counterpart in Washington on Friday.
“We are all dealing with this issue of rates, but I think it is an understanding … why President Trump wants to address some of the global imbalances in the system,” BBC’s editor, Faisal Islam, told the Economics editor.
He was also optimistic about the perspectives of the United Kingdom in the future, saying that there was an “agreement to make”, since the United Kingdom does not have a commercial surplus or deficit with us.
