The RAC has warned that the festive weekend coincides with the end of the Easter holidays for many schools.
He said the traffic will be “equally severe” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of 2.7 million leisure trips per car planned throughout the United Kingdom every day.
Between Thorsday and Easter Monday, more than 19 million leisure trips are planned, including 6.2 million that drivers intend to do during the period, but are not sure on the exact day.

The Inrix transport analysis company predicted delays of more than an hour in the 35 -mile stretch of the M25 from Junction 7 for Gatwick Airport to Junction 16 for the M40 on Thursday.
He also highlighted the M6 north of Chester and the M25 in a schedule towards Godstone, Surrey, as probable traffic access points that day.
On Good Friday, the length supports are expected between 11 am and 1 pm
The drivers who use two popular routes towards the Southwest, the A303 in Wiltshire and the M5 towards the south of Bristol, are being warned of long marine, particularly the duration of that period.

“This could lead to a hat-trick of delays on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays when drivers visit family and friends.
“Drivers should expect to escape from schools if they do not plan the best time to leave.
“It is always better to travel as soon as possible in the morning or later in the day when most of the traffic has relieved, especially if you go to popular holiday destinations such as West Country, Scotland or Wales.”
The port of Dover said that he hopes to process around 5,500 cars that embark on outgoing ferry outings between 6 am and 1 PM on Good Friday.
Drivers who travel to the port are urged to use only main routes and do not arrive more than two hours before their scheduled navigation.
The operation of the Brock Traffic Management System will be in place at Kent until April 22. The scheme involves narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit of 50 mph.
It is designed to manage traffic flows in the M20 with trucks that go to the port of Dover or Eurotunnel aimed at a specific lane.
Several routes will be interrupted this weekend as Network Rail performs engineering work in various places.

The most significant impact will be in London Euston, where there will be no services to or from Milton Keynes on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday and a reduced schedule on Friday and Easter Monday.
VisiTengland’s tourist authority said around 10.6 million British adults plan to take a vacation in the United Kingdom during the festive period.
The Cirium Aviation Analysis Company said that 11,282 flights are scheduled to start from the United Kingdom airports between Good Friday and Easter Monday.
