Mark Fairhurst, national president of the Association of Prison Officers (POA), said they make demand when they meet with Shabana Mahmood on Wednesday.
The meeting occurs after the Manchester Arena Hashem Abedi bomb conspirator attacked the HMP Frankland guards in Durham County with hot oil and homemade weapons.
Since then, Abedi has been transferred to Belmarsh prison, a high security prison in southeastern London.

“We want a special personnel trained on the site that responds to incidents with the ability to implement Taser in the neutralization of that threat.”
Frankland’s staff said they are traumatized, they are fragile and angry “for the” appeasement “or very violent criminals.
He said that while the strike actions for prison officers are prohibited, there is a health and safety legislation that could be cold.

The penitentiary service said it will investigate whether the first -line personnel should receive a protective body armor after ABEDI’s attack earlier this month when four officers were injured.
Ministry of Justice to carry out a review after the prison attack
The Ministry of Justice has pledged to carry out a review after the incident, including access to kitchens in separation units in prisons, where it is believed that the attack has tasks in Frankland.
Mrs. Mahmood said: “It is clear that there are more questions to answer, and more must be done.
“This will analyze how this could happen and what we should do to better protect our prison officers in the future.
“This review will specifically see this attack, but also more widely in how separation centers are executed.”
