The Prince of Wales and Sir Keir Starmer have respected the Pope when world leaders for their funeral in the Plaza de San Pedro del Vaticano were joined.
Prince William, who represented his father Rey Carlos III, stopped next to the prime minister for a moment of silence in front of Pope Francis’s coffin.
The prince, with a dark blue suit and a black tie, squeezed his hands while he solemnly before the funeral mass, before walking through the ornate basilica of San Pedro to meet a member of the clergy and be guided to his seat.
