Inspector Darren Watson and police officer Abdi Osman had to “think out of the box” to catch the culprits, since the officers of the officers had been too well known.
Using their superhero costumes, they fasted to stop the two men in Westminster Bridge, where the gangs attack tourists with known games the “three cup challenge” or “Shell game”.
Eugen Stocia, 32, and Constitica-Gothorghe Barbu, 53, were arrested by Mr. Watson, dressed as Batman, and PC Osman, like Robin, on February 15.
Watson, responsible for the local neighborhood surveillance in Lambeth North West, said: “We know that two repeat offenders have operated in Westminster Bridge and have come to recognize my team of our patrols.
“I knew that if we would catch them we would have to think out of the box, and then I remembered that I had Batman and Robin costumes by hand that could be useful.
“Although dressing may not be the most conventional surveillance method, we were delighted to see that in this case it worked perfectly and the team was able to obtain excellent results, it prohibits people outside the street and protecting tourists and Londoners from being flown.”
Barbu was convicted for providing the facilities to play on February 17, in the Court of Magistrates of Croydon, and was undermined from £ 925.
Stocia was sentenced in his absence of providing the facilities to bet in the Westminster Magistrates on April 10 after not appearing before the court.
The Metropolitan Police said an order comes out for their trial.
