The thieves attacked the couple when they returned to their car in Glengall Road, a short distance from HSBC in Kilburn High Road at 11.30 in the morning of April 7.
The couple had returned to their car when two “European” men knocked on the door, saying “you left money, you left money.”
Although his wife warned him that it was a scam, the old man went out to see £ 150 on the pavement, a technique used by distraction thieves.
His wife went to intervene, but in four seconds a third thief had grabbed a bag with respect to the £ 5000 from the passenger well.
The couple, who lives in Kingsbury, had retired the money to take them when they visited Nieto in Ireland on their Easter holidays.

His son, who requested that the family was not named in the case of more attacks, described the order as “horrible.”
He believes that his mother, 86, and Dad, 84, were deliberately attacked, since they later noticed that the back of his mother’s jacket had sprinkled with red paint.
He added: “God loves them, the pair parked and went to HSBC, they know that the bank staff took out the £ 5,000, went out to Poundland to obtain some chocolates and, as they return to the car, three Europeans made the old trick.”
He added: “My mother is fine, she is a hard nail, but my poor dad is a bit surprised.
“I don’t think they will climb last night to be fair. They are inside and out of Kilburn all their lives and nothing has never happened.
“But they should not stop at it, they are at an age in which they could knock their trust.”
The son said he called the police five times on the day of theft, but the officers did not arrive until the next day.
An HSBC spokesman said “they regretted listening” about the robbery, explaining that the couple was sacrificing alternative options but specifically requested cash.
They said the money was counted in silence using a notes and secured in an envelope beforehand, and the couple was advised that he was vigilant against the porterists and the distraction robberies, which is known to occur in the area.
They added that the team at the Kilburn branch is alert about “suspicious behavior” and eliminates suspicious people from the facilities.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they were called around 12.45 pm on April 7.
He does not have a leg trial, but the investigations are ongoing. Any person with information must communicate with 101, citing the reference of crime 3129/7apr.
