The late John Challis, who played the second -hand car seller “Boycie”, was interested in participating in the program after only four lines were offered for the pilot episode.
However, his partner Debbie Arnold revealed that she persuaded him to assume the paper.
Speaking in the Best Podcast series, suddenly, Debbie talked about his relationship with the extravagant actor.
The 69 -year -old man told the hosts Tim Vincent and Siobhan Wykes: “I was the person who made John only dumb and horses.
“Hello, a series called Citizen Smith and he touched almost pool in that and Johnny Sullivan [the writer] He said: ‘I’m going to write that character in something.’
“John got the script and said ‘It’s just four screwed lines, I can’t do this affection.’

Boycie’s character became a firm favorite of fans in Only Fools and Horses, known for his friendly rivalry with Del y Rodney while enjoying a great cognac on the head of the NAG.
