The Fire Service received two calls on the fire in Northbrook Road just before 12.30 pm on April 12.
Four engines and 25 firefighters from the stations of Ilford, Barking and Stratford were sent.
They found that most of the kitchen of an apartment destroyed and rescued a man from the first flower roof, use a short extension staircase.
Firefighters had controlled fire just after 12.50 pm
The London Fire Brigade believes that the fire was accidental, caused by incense bars placed too close to flammable materials.
A spokesman said: “Incense sticks, candles and oil burners are one of the most common causes of fire inside homes.
“It is really important that you never leave the unattended thesis elements.
“Be sure to place incense sticks in adequate and resistant fire support and keep them away from the curtains and anything else that can easily catch fire.
“Remember to get them completely when they leave the room and species before bedtime.
“We also recommend a time to carry out some checks to keep their loved ones safe.”
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire trucks and around 25 firefighters boarded a fire in a floor in Northbrook Road in Ilford.
“The majority of the kitchen was destroyed by fire. A man was rescued from the flat ceiling of the first field by firefighters using a short extension staircase.
“It is believed that the fire has the leg accidental and caused by incense bars placed too close to combustible materials.
“The control officers took the first of the two calls at 12.27 pm and mobilized four fire trucks and around 25 firefighters from the Fire Stations of Ilford, Barking and Stratford to the scene.
“The incident ended for firefighters at 12.52 pm.”
