Dr. Ben Esdaile, 48, is preparing to administer the 2025 London Marathon in an attempt to collect £ 20,000 for the skin cancer investigation of the British skin foundation.
The dermatologist consultant at Whittington Hospital, London, has seen firsthand the damage caused by potentially deadly mortal disease.
Dr. Esdaile, Muswell Hill, is now promoting his commitment one step further by pushing to complete the exhausting route of the 26.2 miles marathon.
He hopes to raise awareness and funds very necessary for skin cancer investigation.

The NHS has seen a great increase in the number of people looking for treatment for non -melanoma skin cancer.

Approximately 17,500 people are diagnosed annually with melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer.
Around 3000 of these people will only do it every year in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Esdaile is no stranger to the impact of skin cancer, since he is first hand how it affects patients and their families.
He said: “The British Skin Foundation is doing a vital job in financing research that can help improve the results of patients in the future, and I am proud to support them through this challenge.”
Balance its busy clinical practice with marathon training has not been an easy task.
He is early for races before starting his day at the clinic, and his two daughters have to quickly joke about the entire situation.
Dr. Esdaile said: “My eldest daughter likes to make fun of me, saying that I am having a middle -aged crisis and trying to prove that I am still young when a marathon was run.
“I guess there is something really in that.”
However, for Dr. Esdaile, the marathon is more than a personal challenge. It is an opportunity to contribute to a cause to your heart.
With the support of his family, friends and patients, he has already raised significant funds, but he is determined to reach his goal of £ 20,000.
All funds raised will go directly to the British Skin Foundation to support their work in the fight against skin cancer.
