A convicted murderer has been reported as disappeared from an open prison near the Scottish city of Dundee.
HMP Castle Huntly informed the Police of Raymond McCourt’s disappearance, 59, at 17:30 on Tuesday.
Police are looking for McCourt, who has “reduced mobility.” They have warned the public not to approach him.
They gave him a life imprisonment in 1993 for the murder of the merchant Khalid Mahmood and for hurting a woman and a policeman.
It is located at 6 feet 2 inches, has a robust construction and gray hair and was last seen with a long black gabardina, gray pants and vests, blue shirt, brown shoes and a red and white tie.
The Scotland police say that use public transport with connections to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
In 2015, McCourt was released from prison, but returned after being sentenced by robbery.
Castle Huntly is the only open prison in Scotland.
It is not clear if McCourt was far from licensed prison when he disappeared.
Police have requested sightings or information that will be reported through number 101, citing reference 2857. Anonymous information can be provided through the Beneficial Organization Crimetoppers in 0800 555 111.
