Labor deputy and former Minister Tulip Siddiq have accused Bangladesh authorities of a “policy motivated smear campaign” after issuing a court order against him.
The country’s anti -corruption commission has been investigating Siddiq’s accusations illegally received land as part of his broader investigation of his aunt’s regime, Sheikh Hasina, who was deposed as Prime Minister in August.
The deputy of Hampstead and Highgate, who renounce as the Economic Secretary of the Treasury in January, were appointed in the court order along with more than more than 50 other weekends.
Responding to the court order, Siddiq told journalists that Bangladesh authorities were carrying out a “media trial.”
