
A convict murderer who came out to flee from an open prison in Duende was found in Edinburgh.
Raymond McCourt was arrested by simple clothing officers after being withdrawn from a Lothian bus in the city of London Road city on Friday morning.
McCourt had been previously seen in Duke Street in Glasgow on Tuesday after being reported as disappeared from HMP Castle Huntly.
The 59 -year -old man was imprisoned in 1993 after killing the merchant Khalid Mahmood in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire.
An ocular witness told BBC Scotland News McCourt “surrounded by six officers when asked to leave the number five service near the crossing with Leith Walk.
It is believed that he approached the bus in the Abbeyhill area minutes before.
The passengers saw him in search of uniformed clothing and officers before the bus could move on.

McCourt was imprisoned for the Khalid Mahmood shooting at the age of 27.
He was released under license in 2015, but was returned to prison after stealing value objects from his partner in Alyth, Perthshire.
He used the money to pay a vacation to Blackpool before being tracked by the police.
McCourt told the officers that he was struggling to deal with the prison of life on the side and that he had stolen the articles to have an explosion before his return to jail.
They gave him an additional sentence of 10 months for that crime and returned to prison for his life for murder.
