Rory Mcilroy achieved the immortality of golf while defeated Justin Rose in a sudden tie -breaker of death to finally win his first Masters title and complete the Grand Slam of his career in a greatly dramatic final round in Augusta National.
Having lost a Putt Par to win in the regulation, Mcilroy rolled on one foot for Birdie in the first extra hole to deny his teammate of the Ryder Cup and claim the greatest victory of his life.
After his Putt found the bottom of the cup, Mcilroy collapsed to the ground when emotions reached the end of an extraordinary day of sports theater.
