The driver of a car chased by the police died after an accident with two other cars in southern London on Friday night.
Six people who were in the other two vehicles were judged, one seriously, in the incident in Wickham Road, Croydon, near the crossing with Shirley Road, shortly before 21:00 BST, he said with the police.
The 63 -year -old man who died was suspended from using cloned numbers plates in his car.
His two passengers, both 61 -year -old men, were arrested under suspicion or bees transported in a stolen vehicle. One was also arrested for possession or drugs of class A. Both remain in custody, police added.
The incident began at 20:28 BST on Friday when police officers in Patrol “asked to follow a vehicle that was suspected that showed plates of cloned numbers,” the force said in a statement.
At 20:38, BST’s officers tried to stop the vehicle near South Norwood High Street, but did not stop and the police chased him.
Six minutes later, the car crashed into two cars in Wickham Road, Croydon near the crossing with Shirley Road, the police added.
The officers gave an RCP man, but died on the scene. His closest relative has been informed.
The London ambulance service and the London Fire Brigade treated several people for injuries and tok six people to the hospital. One had a potential life injury.

“The IAPC will now carry out an independent investigation.”
