As soon as the night continues. After World Book Day, World Book Night arrives.
Where the old most famous event is aimed at young children, Bromley Central Library is organizing a program aimed at adolescents and adults.
The High Street Library will organize its first ‘World Book Night’ on April 23, San Jorge Day and also Shakespeare’s birthday, offering a wide variety of fun activities around reading, writing and creating, and everything is free.
The world of the World book aims to promote love to language, literature and imagination. The attractions will include 150 ‘fast readings’ to give, creative writing workshops with local authors Kerry Barrett and Annie Lyons and a Q session and a session with local writers James Swallow and Bee Lifetime.
There will also be a painting test session with Arts Nest Studio and, as part of the celebrations of ‘Bromley 60’, the Chris Smith librarian will give a talk about ‘a Bromley story in five buildings’
The night will also have a Bromley Start-UP market, which exhibits local businessmen, cocktails and nigerian food, poetry recitals, Shakespeare monologues and music from the students of the British school
The comic artist Ken Hopgood, creator of ‘Hulk Buster’ by Marvel), is also reserved to attend.
Bromley’s libraries are administered by the social company of Charity Gll under the ‘best’ brand.
Sally Adcock, GLL libraries manager in the municipality, said: “We are very excited to offer our first world books, continuing our tradition of library events after darkness. We have some fantastic local authors and illustrators who come in addition to inspiring entrepreneurs and artists who creak, who needs to sleep?!”
The world book night starts at 6pm. For complete details about reservations, visit Bromley Central Library or call 0203 931 0900. You can also send them by email to central.library@gll.org.
