Lewisham College students have not used the Site at Deptford Bridge last summer, but Goldsmiths Fine Arts College currently occupies some of the buildings.
The RER London developer now has the site, which extends to horcajadas on the border between Lewisham and Greenwich, and has submitted a planning application to rebuild it.
The plans include demolishing existing buildings and replacing them with new blocks of floors, the highest of which would have 31 floors high.
In total, eight new buildings would be built, which provide only 900 houses.
Around two thirds of these houses would fall on the Lewisham side of the border, with the rest in Greenwich.
The developer says he has also set aside space in his designs that would allow the goldsmiths to continue using the site. Development would also provide new stores and restaurants.
Only around one in ten homes built as part of the new development will be classified as a “affordable” home.
The developer has said that the location of the SIT next to the Deptford Bridge DLR station means that it can be “car -free”.
They also plan to open 600 meters or in front of the coast with views of Deptford Creek, promising “animated squares and squares.”
The highest 31 -story block will be in Lewisham, as well as in a greater classification of three -building buildings between 11 floors and 17 floors.
In Greenwich, the highest building will have a height of 24 floors, with two other blocks of ten floors.
A single plane building will also be built that provides study space near Greenwich High Road.
