The Kome Express Ilford Takeaway in Chapel Road was prosecuted by the Redbridge Council and Fold £ 6,075 with judicial costs for “turning and not storing its commercial waste correctly.”
The restaurant, which appears permanently closed by Google and Uber Eats and does not have an Ilford site on its website, was already on the radar of the council after similar prosecution last year that led to £ 4,801 in fines and judicial costs.
“Do not store commercial waste correctly presents a threat to public health and is also an eyeore,” insisted the member of the Khayer Chowdhury council cabinet.
“This prosecution should be a warning for those who think they can go out with their garbage that the Council fulfills a difficult action against companies that refuse to act responsible for eliminating their waste.”
The last judicial action occurred after complaints about garbage in other people’s containers.
Kitchen waste, such as revealing order tickets, were discovered in nearby wheel containers belonging to neighboring homes.
But the real shock occurred when an agent of the Council Law found open bags of rotten food waste in a patio near the back of the facilities, probably attract Vermin, said the council.
A legal notice of environmental protection was issued that requires how commercial waste of restaurants is stored.
But the inspectors who made an unnoticed check discovered that Kome Express Ilford “ignored the legal notice” with their overvalued commercial container and the waste left on the ground, the court of Barkingside magistrates was heard.
The company received five fixed fine notices that remained without paying despite the reminder cards.
This led to the second action of the Court for flying with fly and four citations of not complying with the notice of the environment.
The case was heard and tested in the absence of Kome Express Ilford, after not attending the court on March 18.
Eat Express Ilford has not been able to return any account of the company since January 2024.
