The Scottish Parliament has confirmed the date of a partial election in the seat in the hands of SNP Minister, Chrstina Mckelvie, who died at the end.
The vote in the Constitution of Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse will take place on June 5.
McKelvie, the MSP of Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer.
The president of the Scottish Parliament, Alison Johnstone, announced the date on a letter to the executive director of the Council of South Lanarkshire.
It will be the first partial elections of Holyrood since 2019.
The winner of the contest will only be in force for about nine months, with the elections of the Scottish Parliament scheduled for May of next year.
McKelvie had been MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse since May 2011, after being chosen as a central representative of Scotland in 2007.
She had been minister since 2018, literally maintaining drugs and alcohol letter.
