The students of Henry Green elementary school took the classroom time for the Keep Brething Brething Tidy campaign as the trash passed, sincerely along Green Lane.
They took 11 garbage bags from the streets, mainly cigarette butts, wrappers, bottles and cans.
“This is our ‘green team’ doing its part,” said Henry Green Primary director Matt Murphy. “These little bits make a big difference and I hope something takes off and do in the areas where they live.”
The school joined one of the volunteers of the Keep Brething Tidy community, Emdad Rahman, along with the members of the Barking and Dagenham Council who also gave him a hand.
The Kashif Haroon council member said: “Community garbage collection is a strong message that we will not tolerate disorder or garbage.”
The Board helps anyone who performs their own community cleaning in their neighborhood by supplying picks and collecting the waste later. The public is urged to inform any literature, fly tip, dirty dogs or graffiti on their “lbbd.gov.uk” website.
