
A senior police officer who participated in sexual behavior without consent has fired.
Tom Simons, a former chief superintendent, was fired by the Essex Police after a disciplinary hearing discovered that he abused his position with a sexual purpose with a colleague.

IAPC director Emily Barry said: “Officers who abuse her position for sexual purposes have absolutely any place in surveillance.
“Although their behavior is reminded and maintaining professional limits, CH Sppt Simons continued to behave inappropriately.
“His work and behavior have been lost as this damages the confidence and confidence of the public in police officers.”
