The popularity of electronic cigarettes or disposable vapes has fallen in front of a Prohibition of the entire United Kingdom In his sale on June 1, he found a study.
Researchers believe that vape users are changing to rechargeable and rechargeable vapees in advance of the ban.
The percentage of people from 16 to 24 years old who mainly use disposable vapes has been reduced by half a close in the last year from 63% to 35%, according to the investigation of the University College London (UCL).
The general use of vapeo stagnated between January 2024 and 2025 in all adults over 16, after several years of significant growth.
The prohibition of the United Kingdom Government of the disposable vape and of a single use is intended to stop the garbage, since, in most cases, the vapos cannot recycle already often end in natural landfill environments or pollute.
The prohibition also aims to address the growing youth vapeo rates and protect damage children.
The UCL study analyzed the data on the survey on vaping habits in England, Wales and Scotland both before and after the prohibition was announced.
The study used data from the smoking tool kit, which compiled data on 88,611 people 16 years or older.
Before the prohibition, between January 2022 and January 2024, the vopeo among those of 16 years and more increased from 8.9% to 13.5%.
In young adults from 16 to 24 years old, use increased more abruptly, from 17% to 26.5%.
After the prohibition was announced, the researchers found a decrease in the number of VAPERS mainly using disposable electronic cigarettes in all age slimers and particularly among young people aged 16-24.
The study only asked vape users about their main device choice.
Dr. Sarah Jackson, who works for the UCL tobacco and alcohol research group and is the main author of the survey, tells the BBC that she believes that “more people are resorting to reusable and reusable devices” instead of stopping completely.
“We see people change their behavior in response to changes in image policy before taking action,” he adds.
Disposable vapees are single -use devices, which are prejudged with vape fluid, rechargeable and rechargeable (reusable) devices have a longer life and, often, they are a cheaper way to vapor in the long term.
A reusable vape has vape fluid that can be filled and a battery that can be recharged.
Dr. Jackson adds that vape manufacturers have also quickly reacted to the next ban, with the most popular disposable brands that produce rechargeable versions of their most popular models.
“They are very similar in design, colors, flavors and equal to the price,” she says.
While Dr. Jackson believes that it is too early to know if the new government strategy will dissuade the youth of vaping, she argues that health legislats face “a balance problem.”
“We know that it makes sense to do something to try to reduce the fixed number of young people who take vapeo, but the key priority of public health here continues to smoke,” she says.
“This is much more harmful and is killing many people every year, so we must ensure that any political measure that is introduced to face young people who do not discourage people with vapes, so edge.
