The closure begged shortly after 1.20 in the morning (April 14), after a report was made to the police.
A police spokesman said: “Thanks to the person who made the report, we were able to respond quickly and begin to interact with the woman.”
The bridge remained closed while the incident was taken to a safe conclusion.
The woman stayed in the care of health professionals.
The spokesman added: “Thanks to all motorists who were affected by the closure of their understanding and patience.”

A Essex police spokesman said: “In the early hours of this morning, the Dartford river crossing closed when emergency services attended Conerns for the well -being of a woman.
“The incident was reported shortly after 1.20 am
“Thanks to the person who made the report, we were able to respond quickly and begin to interact with the woman.
“The bridge remained closed while the incident led to a safe conclusion, and the woman stayed in the care of health professionals.
“The road was reopened shortly after 4.30 am
