May & Baker Sports and Social Club closed its doors on February 3 after instructing the liquidators that reduce the business.
At that time, a staff member told Barking and Dagenham Post That the community was “devastated” by the “sudden” closure.
They said that the club had been fighting financial since the Covid pandemic exhausted their reservations, and the members did not return in the same number as before.
Founded about 80 years ago, the club was transferred by the pharmaceutical company that owns the site for Barking and Daysham Counter in 2013.
The club was Leased To be administered by the May and Baker Eastbrook Community Club, a charitable trust.
Next to a club house, the site includes football releases, an illuminated training area, rugby launches, cryket releases and tennis courts.
However, its facilities have closed the bone during the last two months, with the battery accused of having is “head in the sand” on the situation.
But the local authority has now confirmed that it has found a temporary operator to execute the site while considering the “future management in the long term”.
London-East UK Business and Technical Park (NICE), which runs the adjacent business park and parking and offers the supply of electricity to the Club House, has tasks in the club.
The Council says that this will allow existing sports and social clubs, “and enhanced” return to the site.
A spokesman for the Barking and Dagenham Council said: “Nice is a facilities management company that is part of the BG group.
“It is an organization that knows the area well and it is very good to take care of the site in the meantime.
“He is looking to retain a club staff and is already under discussion with the sports clubs that use the site.”
It is not clear exactly when the club’s facilities will be completed in operation, but in a statement published in X, the Club Cricket team, Goresbrook CC, revealed that it would return to the site on Friday (April 18).
