A recycling scheme in a crematorium has raised £ 12,500 in the last year to support beneficial organizations in the area.
The unusual scheme has been executed from Hinder Green Crematorium, in Verkheid Lane.
With the consent of family members, the recycling of the metal scheme recovers and recycles articles such as medical pins, plates, cables, screws, rods and artificial joints after a cremation.
The projects of this recycling effort are donated to the positions that support individuals with terminal diseases or real families.
The money raised from this year’s profits will be divided between Catford’s Sands of charity of pregnancy and loss of babies” Hospicio for children of St Christopher and LEWISHAM Citizens Council.
Christine Davies, director of fundraising at St Christopher’s Hospice, said that “we are very grateful for this donation that will help us continue to provide life care for our patients and support for their families when they need it most.”
The funds will provide specialized equipment in ST Christopher’s Hospice, who is friends with one by the families that have experienced pregnancy and the loss of babies, and the support of duel tested through Citizens Advice Lewisham.

Hannah Peck, manager of strategic associations in Sands, said: “This support means that we can continue providing duel support services to local families, including our friendship services, for those who are going through the times of their life.
“We trust donations to help make sure we can keep our services accessible and free. Thank you for having such an impact on the lives of better families.”
The recycling of the metal scheme is directed by the Crematorium Cemetery and Management Institute (ICCM), or what Lewisham Council is a member.
CLLR OANA Olaholmes joined the staff of the Board’s Beanavement service to verify the hands to the benefits in an event last week.
The Cabinet member with the responsibility of the commitment services said: “We are honored to participate in the ICCM metal recycling scheme, which allows us to support three incredible local charities.
“These organizations provide crucial attention and assistance to the duration of our community, some of the most challenging moments of life.”
Since registered in the ICCM metal recycling scheme 10 years ago, the Lewisham Council has raised more than £ 170,000 for the end of life and Beanavement charges in the municipality.
