The Athletic Manager of Charlton, Nathan Jones, has talked about Zach Mitchell still has a great future in the promotions hunters of the League one.
The young defender, 20, joined by Scottish side St Johnstone in early February and has made 10 appearances.
Mitchell has suffered an injury in the hamstrings that forced him to lose the 5-0 defeat against Celtic in the semifinal of the Copa Scottish last weekend.
“He has done very well,” Jones told South London Press. “It is a pity that he has lost the semifinal due to the lesion in the hamstrings, but it is a learning curve for him.
“We will evaluate everything that has happened there, but he is one of those who have great hopes. He is someone who plays as we want to play.
“We feel that we do not give 15-20 games in the second half of the season that Johnstone has been able to give him much more game time. Therefore, he has a very productive loan for him.”
St Johnstone chief coach Simo Valakari is not completely ruling out to Mitchell that appears before the campaign ends.
“Zach is eager to see how it is going,” Valakari said The messenger. “It is a good sign that he feels that he can try to return this season. We both see the situation in the same way.
“It is a great motivation for him. Seeing a loan player so determined to return is great to see.
“Or for the course, each player wants to recover from an injury as quickly as possible, but Zach also wants to help the team.
“The plan is that he stays with us during a pair of physio of the week, he will be practical with him because they know the injury.
“Hello, I could return to Charlton and we will get a second opinion about what will be the next step.”
