Hashem Abedi, Manchester Arena Bomber’s brother attacked three prison officers.
The officers suffered wounds that prolonged life on Saturday, including burns, scalds and white weapon wounds in HMP Frankland attack in Durham County, said prison officers association.
Abedi threw hot kitchen oil on the officers and used “homemade weapons” to stab them, the organization alleged.
The penitentiary service confirmed that three officers were treated at the hospital after an attack by a prisoner, adding that the police were investigating.
To or 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, an official woman treated at the hospital had been discharged.
Abedi is Salman Abedi’s brother, who carried out the Manchester Arena bombing that killed 22 people in 2017.
After Abedi, 28, was appointed by the Association of Prison officers as involved in the attack, a government source confirmed to the BBC that he was the prisoner involved.
Abedi was convicted of 22 positions of murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to cause an explosion that endangers life in 2020 after Manchester Arena attack.
The BBC has contacted Durham’s police to comment.
