The meetings of “Bromley Buzzup” have been held in several places, including Newman flexible work space in the center of Bromley Town, The Bridge House Theater in Penge, Westcombe Park Rugby Club, Biggin Hill Airport, Community House and Lolli’s Sweet Shop.
Darren Weale said: “The Buzzups were an idea long before they started, because they take a lot of time and effort to run.
“Bromley has a business network scene through business, but nothing else was joining people more widely.
“We wanted to change that.
“We have, and now the people who do good things in Bromley in the arts, sports, business, positions, media, health, education and more are gathering regularly face to face and adding the buzz here.”
The next Bromley Buzzup will be in Bromley Youth Music Trust on May 13, and councilor Dr. David Jeffeys, Mayor of Bromley, will attend.
The special guest will be Nick Oram, who has written about the iconic Spitfire plane.
Buzzup events often present activities such as brief conversations and time for attendees to chat with each other, which has led to some intersectoral collaborations.
The activities have included a paper plane and a longer launch competition at Biggin Hill airport, the works of art led by local artist Beci Ward and Ballet, led by Janet Lewis Obe, director of English Youth Ballet English.
Participants reflect the podcast variety itself.
Mr. Weale added: “We have more exciting plans for Bromley and Buzzups, and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors to help us grow beyond podcast.”
