Mike Ellis, 49, of Bexleyheath, revealed how his vehicle was almost stolen twice, which led him to take measures to safeguard him from future robbery attempts.
The theft of carless cars is a growing group in the United Kingdom, with thieves that use amplification devices to collect keyless phobs signs, cheating cars to give access.
Mike Ellis said: “My wife’s car was stolen from our journey through thieves who cloned the key through our forehead, all of which was captured by the camera.”
In response to this, Mike Ellis decided to use Faraday steering wheel locks and bags to protect their vehicles.
He said: “Now, the two, the two locks of the steering wheel, and put it religious every time I leave the car.
“We were also advised to buy a Faraday bag to stop the signal that is issued from the key, protecting us from the device used by thieves.”
Mike’s decision to invest in these security measures proved to be wise, since he recently experienced another attempted robbery.
He said: “This was a good decision, since I had another incident recently with Trypes thieves trying to steal our cars.
“They seemed to be using a scanning device in one of my cars, but as we have invested in signal blocking bags and a steering wheel block, fortunately they could not remove vehicles.”
Lancaster Insurance experts have also highlighted the effectiveness of traditional security measures to deter car theft.
The steering locks and wheel clamps are popular options, which act as visible and slow down the possible thieves.
Rich Morley in Lancaster Insurance said: “When considering a risk profile, we will establish with customers any safety measure they have in place to avoid possible robberies.
“In many cases, this will be to add traditional security measures, such as a steering block, wheel clamp or entrance bollards.
“We will take into account the thesis when reviewing the general risk and can already help reduce premiums.”
These measures not only provide tranquility, but they can also help reduce insurance premiums.
With the theft of cars without a increasing key, it is clear that traditional safety measures can play a crucial role in the protection of the robbery vehicles.
