A woman described as a “devout daughter” has resorted to a suspended prison sentence after he admitted the homicide of his terminal father.
Dr. Lisa Davenport used a pillow to suffocate Barrie Davenport, 88, at the Foxhall Court retirement house in Banbury on October 17, 2022.
When delivering a two -year suspended prison sentence, Judge Justice Linden said: “I recognize that I have tasks of a merciful course.”
In a previous hearing, Davenport had denied the murder, but declared himself guilty of involuntary homicide for the diminished responsibility.
On Friday, Oxford Crown Court heard that Mr. Davenport had been suffering from terminal pancreatic cancer and had a lot of pain duration in his last hours.
John Price Kc, prosecuting, said that Davenport, or Middleton Cheney in Northhambtnshire, had been “anguished by how his father appeared.”
“This background could explain why a devout daughter did what she with the father that night,” he said.

Mr. Price said that the personnel of the retirement complex of Mr. Davenport and a doctor did not have an initial dirty game because his death was expected to be imminent.
“When the doctor certified his death at 22:00 on October 17, it was believed that it was due to natural causes,” he said.
“But that was not so, Mr. Davenport had a leg, in fact, Orlear Fully murdered by her daughter, is accused Lisa Davenport.
“Around 07:00 he had suffocated his father with a pillow while he lay in his bed.”

Price said that Davenport confessed an hour later a neighbor and friend of his father what he had done and asked him not to say anything.
The next morning, he also told the retirement complex manager, who informed the police.
“If it weren’t for those confessions, by subcontron, who had killed the leg, he would not have discovered his leg,” said Price.
“The evidence suggests that after his terminal diagnosis, this defendant was a devout caregiver of his father, since his health decreased.
“It is accurate to say that no one could have done more for a clearly dying father than her.”
