In a note for the developers last night, Apple confirmed that he had updated his App Store Guuidelines for his American store after a decision of the scathing court on Wednesday.
After a federal judge in California, on Wednesday (April 30) he referred to Apple for possible criminal prosecution for breach of a 2021 ruling by saying that he must open his application
Spotify was ready to go with a new version of its application, and sent the update to the app store yesterday, he said.
“The application revision guidelines have been updated for the fulfillment of a decision of the United States court with respect to the buttons, external links and other calls to the action in the applications,” Apple said in an email to developers last night, according to 9to5Mac.
“These changes affect the applications distributed in the United States store of the App Store.”
According to the new rules of the application store, “there is no prohibition in an application that includes buttons, external links or other calls to action.”
Earlier this week, Judge Yvonne González Rogers gave Apple a strong reprimand, in a case that was taken by the Fortnite developer, Epic Games, for an accusation that the technological giant had not complied with a previous court order of the same judge in 2021.
In his decision, González Rogers said that Apple had challenged his trial that he must open his app store to third -party payment options and stop charging commissions in purchases made outside his software market, in violation of the Californian law. González did not stop at his anger with Apple.
As application developers rush, the Spotify music transmission giant seems to have been out of place, sending an updated version of its application that has changes that include links to external payments.
“Apple now will have to stop restricting the ability of developers to communicate with their customers for free,” said a Spotify statement. “While other governments around the world have tasks against the harmful practices of Apple, this is, with much, the most consistent action to date, and offers the benefits that all consumers deserve worldwide.”
