Out of nowhere, Aorus has revealed its concept for a PC for next -generation games, Project Cielo. It certainly looks different, with its triangular stacking structure, and it is claimed that it is also modular. But is it really “the future of games”?
As a conceptual PC, one can forgive Gigabyte / Aorus for being a bit light on the details. There are really no technological specifications to share. In the first impression, I thought that the three modular segments separated from the design of the concept can be; CPU, GPU and power/storage: something like that. However, the vision and modular design of Aorus are not so at all; The concept as shown consists of “the main system, the battery pack and the Bluetooth speaker”. Looking closest at the images, these descriptions of the module are applied from top to bottom. In the upper part, in the main PC system unit, you will also see the angel wings in the form of a 5G antenna cake.
It seems that Aorus acknowledges that 5G is very important for the future of Games PC. “Compared to traditional cable or 4G wireless networks, 5G makes PC games possible on the fly by offering greater bandwidth, ultra -low and almost instant access to cloud games,” he explains, in a press release on the sky project. Therefore, the PC games will depend more on a great connectivity in the future instead of having an exceptional processing power in the chassis, that seems to be the aorus angle, which is a bit strange for the gigabyte wing of PC games to promote. Why not use an easy 5G tablet to prepare for such a high laptop, with a large bonus, have a screen?
In the description of the product, Aorus reveals an equal to the current concepts of PC for games, “users can combine either parties and meet their game needs, entertainment or other mobile applications.” So, this conceptual PC does not need the bit that is the PC …
This could be one of the first conceptual modular PCs of recent years that I have no hope or enthusiasm. Therefore, it is likely to be one of the first to convert the highest concept into a retail trade, but the fingers crossed for a 2022 omen.
