Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, bought a participation in the female champion of the Super League Chelsea.
Ohanian, the founder of the Reddit Social Network Platform, will join the Blues Board after buying a participation reported in 10 percent in the club, for a value of around 20 million.
He wrote in X: “I am great in women’s sports before, and I am doing it again. I am proud to announce that I will join Chelsea FCW as an investor and member of the Board.
“I feel honored the opportunity to help this iconic club become the favorite Barclays WSL team in the United States and much more.”
The Sonia Bompastor team hopes to ensure the domestic acute that the WSL has already won and the Women’s League Cup.
Ohanian, 42, published a link for tickets for the final of the Sunday FA Cup between Chelsea and Manchester United, with the message: “See you on Sunday.” He also updated his profile X, adding “owner Chelsea FCW”.
Chelsea has just won his sixth consecutive title of WSL, becoming the first team to finish a campaign of undefeated games.
Ohanian wrote: “These players are rewriting the game. Undefeated season. Eyes on the treble.
“But it is not just about winning titles. It is that it finally coincides with its talent with the resources, visibility and respect they deserve. I have been right about this before and could be more excited.”
He also published a photograph of the Chelsea Home and Away kits with the names of the couple’s children, Olympia and Adira, on the back.
Ohanian, who married 23 times champion of the great Slam Williams in 2017, was previously an Founding inverter of Angel City FC in the National Women’s Soccer League.
