Nat Sciver-Brunt has been appointed captain of England, which takes the team to a new era at chief coach Charlotte Edwards.
Sciver-Brunt was the instantaneous favorite to collect the cane of the long service captain Heather Knight, having served as the latter vicecapitan, and his appointment marks the first important decision of the reign of Edwards.

More recently, Sciver-Brunt finished the 2025 female premier in India with 523 races, becoming the first player to accumulate more than 500 races in a single season. It also became the first to score 1,000 races in the WPL.
Sciver-Brunt, who is currently maternity licensed after the birth of his first child with the former teammate of England Katherine, said: “Charlotte, someone I have always admired, I am very proud to assume the role of the captain of the Women’s team in England and it is an honor to have asked, someone I have always admired.”
