Pep Guardiola insisted that Kevin de Bruyne has nothing to show anyone as the outgoing Manchester City star continued his excellent way with the only goal in a 1-0 victory over the wolves.
Bruyne will leave Etihad this summer after a decade in the club after the city chiefs decided not to sacrifice the new 33 -year contract.
Since the news was announced, Bruyne has performed some striking actions, and did it again to resolve a tight contest against the wolves in shape, who reached the post through Botheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri.
After the game, from Bruyne he told Sky Sports his performances about the last month “I showed that I can still play”, but it will be someone else next season.
This was the penultimate game at De Bruyne’s house for City, only the match against Bournemouth on May 20 remains, but in the end he could celebrate with fans.
“(It is) really good,” said Guardiola. “Against Crystal Palace with 2-0 for its goal, cool the impulse to come. I am sure it is not easy for him, but his contribution has a massive, important bone.”
When asked if Bruyne is irreplaceable, the head of the city added: “There are players like Sergio (Agüero), like Kevin, like Vinny (Vincent Kompany) who are in the heart of the people.
“Not only titles and numbers, contributions in terms of affection, love and passion for all of us a decade here, helping us to win absolutely everything. And it is still here.
“He doesn’t have to demonstrate anything, I know its quality and level. That’s it.”
Victory was the fifth consecutive of the city in all competitions in the league, and moves them to third place, four points away from Nottingham Forest in the battle for a position of the first five.
They are only three points from the second place of Arsenal, who have a game in hand but must still travel to Anfield.
However, Guardiola insisted that the gunners are not in the sights.
“That is not the goal,” he said. “(The objective) is to qualify for the Champions League and the Fa Cup final.”
Wolves saw a six -games winning race in the league to come to an end, but the traveler fans still applauded enthusiastically after a fighting performance.
Chief Vorror Pereira said: “It was a very good game, tactical, technically. I saw in my team the spirit I want to see, the mentality to compete and until the last minute we tried to write down.
“Whether the course there are some moments when we must defend ourselves because we face a very strong team, but in the end I am very happy, very proud of my team, very proud of my players and very proud of the followers.
“It is only the result that was not what we want.
“Next time I will ask you before the game that moves the publication, and then we will score at least two goals.”
