The return of Anthony Joshua to the ring must be delayed with an elbow surgery that will prevent him from training up to eight weeks.
Joshua has not fought since he crushed within five rounds of the King of heavyweight of the FIB Daniel Dubois in Wembley in September with the expected fight against Tyson Fury Rayada for the last retirement of his British rival.
There is still the possibility that Joshua and Fury are at the end of this year, but first the former 35 -year -old unified champion must recover from the operation that will take place this month.
“I am trying to succeed my body. I have a small surgery in the elbow, a small surgery, at some point in May,” he told Dazn.
“I am finishing the details. He will see me out of the gym for six to eight weeks and as soon as I have cured, I will return.”
Joshua had rebuilt after losing twice before Oleksandr Usyk when recovering three successive victories, only to be knocked out by Dubois in a unique clash that led the calls to make the winner of the Gold Medal of London 2012 withdraw.
However, Joshua knows that a confrontation with the long -term British rival fury would be very lucrative for both fighters. Dubois returns to Wembley to face Ushk on July 19.
