We are great admirers of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), a popular tour races series, and usual will find us in our local song in Donington Park when the series meets during the weekend. We are fans of Napa Racing UK and enjoy supporting our favorite driver, Dan Rowbottom and his team Mats Ash Sutton, Dan Cammish and Sam Osborne during the year. Last year, I bought tickets for a strange hospitality Saturday with Napa Racing Uk for all of us and we all had a brilliant day.
Most BTCC teams have hospitality offered on the weekends of the race and our team, Napa Racing UK only offers their hospitality to fans on Saturday of the race weekend. For fans of any BTCC, the calendar of the event on Saturday is free practice and qualification for the main television event on a Sunday. Other teams sacrifice Sunday’s hospitality for fans to pay and have had the opportunity to enjoy this and we would love to do this again this season.
Go ‘full accelerator’ in Donington Park
We reserve tickets to enjoy the Napa UK hospitality offer of complete acceleration in Donington Park in August 2024. I reserved in advance, since they are sold quickly, and I was excited to share the experience with the family. Before the event, I downloaded the Napa Racing UK Hospitality application on my phone and our tickets for the day were accessible from here. We were giving a map and instructions on where to gather in the day.
It was an early start for us on Saturday, since the hospitality experience begins from 9 AM we arrived early and with one of the teams at the door that led us to a previous tour of breakfast through the garages in the paddock in the buggies. Unfortunately, it was a humid and windy August day, so we were grateful for the elevator of the hospitality area. The weather is always really changing in Donington and can be horrible in a minute and then glorious sun to the next.
Napa Racing Hospitality
Upon arriving at the hospitality truck, which was placed between Redgate and Hollywood, we were welcome and shown to our table that would be ours throughout the day. On the table there was a gift bag full of Napa Racing UK brands, in addition to some treats from its sponsors. We also had VIP Laces, a program and Napa Racing UK Caps, in addition to a 10% discount in the Napa merchandise store in the place. Welcome breakfast was served and bacon sandwiches with a cup of hot tea were just what we needed to warm up! Unfortunately for us, the windows of the racing track were on the opposite side where we were sitting, but we could go up the deck to see panoramic views in the circuit.
Driver’s team and questions and answers
Through the morning, we had an introduction in the team with one of the Napa racing mechanics that followed a question and answers session of information drivers with the legend of British engines sport, Tim Harvey. It was good to see all drivers in a relaxed environment with everyone laughing and joking among them and it was good to be so close to them and ask them questions. It was also a good opportunity for our children to obtain their driver programs and cards signed by NAPA drivers!
It was a good day to experiment on Saturday a race weekend watching pilots run around the track against the clock. On Saturday, the pilots participate in free practice and the qualified turns that result in the alignment of the network is determined for the first race on a Sunday.
We were able to access the hospitality unit until Saturday and we could enjoy a hot lunch and an afternoon tea with access to cold and hot drinks during the day. It was a great opportunity for us to use the unit as a base and leave some of our things while enjoying walking through the paddock, seeing other drivers and taking advantage of photos as they arise.
Is it worth the hospitality of Napa?
We paid £ 150 for adult and £ 50 each for children, so £ 400 was a cheap day. Our VIP tickets included entry to the circuit that generally have a price between £ 35 and £ 40 per adult (children under 13 are free of charge) and it is always worth verifying that hospitality is an additional cost. Tickets otherwise! Tickets with unlimited drinks, a hot breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon tea and cakes, nobody was hungry and the opportunity to meet drivers and absorb all Napa’s magic was worth it for us. We all enjoy the day, the staff was wonderful and really wanted to make sure to have the best moment. We would love to do it again soon!
