Belize is a small country in Central America that has a serious blow. Although it only has a population of around 400,000, there is much to do in this small portion of Paradise. My active travel guide will take it through what to do in Belize, including a 10 -day example itinerary.
The benefit of Belize’s small size is that you can walk through the jungle in the morning and snore the sharks in the afternoon. With 50% of the country protected by national parks and environmental laws, it is a destination for nature lovers who seek to put out outdoors, experience the Mayan culture and continue with underwater adventures.

Practical aspects:
Get there:
At the time of writing, there are direct flights from the United Kingdom to Belize, but can catch an easy to connect through the United States. We fly through Atlanta with Delta Airlines and it was quite fluid.
Put the turn:
You can easily rent a 4 × 4 car from Belize airport if you want to take it through the continent. However, most hotels offer well -organized one -day excursions to the main nearby attractions, so I would highly recommend this if you want to avoid renting a car.
When to visit:
Belize’s dry station is from November to May. We visited in January and had a little bad luck with a rainy patch that passed through our trip, however, after talking to the locals, they said that coming in March/April is the best of the guaranteed sun of the wall of the wall.
How long to stay:
I would say that you need a minimum of one week to experience a sample of Belize, ten days if you want to reach all key views and more time if you want to enjoy it at a relaxed pace.
Where to stay:
We chose to stay in a selection of hotels and resorts (detailed below), since they offer easy day excursions, well -organized excursions and packaged lunches that only make our lives so Eaxier. In addition, they were quite luxurious and served more delicious food!
Prices:
Belize is a country that can travel in a variety of budgets, it is a well traveled stop on the backpacking routes of Central America, so there are affordable shelters and street food vendors. However, there are also luxurious five -star tourist centers and private islands if you want to treat you.

Accommodation:
We divided our time between three boutique tourist centers, all or that let us fly.
Ka’ana Resort, San Ignacio:
A small luxury hotel with an isolated exclusive sensation, nestled in the jungles of western Belize. They sacrifice a lot of adventure tours and their restaurant in the place is incredible.
The shores, the Sibun River Valley:
A seriously luxurious series of private villas in a valley of the tropical jungle removed. The rooms are beautiful, the service is incredible and food is out of this world. The complex even has its own hiking routes, rope bridges and horseback riding on the site.
Ray Caye Private Island:
A more luxurious option in the famous Cayas de Belize, this private island only has a handful of rooms and is the perfect place to relax in the sun. The food was our favorite of the whole trip and there are a lot of diving, diving and water sports on its doors.

What to do and see in Belize:
Maya Caracol Temple:
Belize is home to numerous Mayan archaeological sites, with Caracol is one of the least visited, so I hree your head there! It is far from the crowds and the lack of footprint means that you will practically get the place for you. It is a location in the Chiquibul forest reserve, it covers almost 25,000 acres and is home to the highest Mayan structure of Belize, giving incredible views on the surrounding jungle.
Visit the Mountain Pine Pine Ridge Forest Reserve:
Yes, you read it well: A pine forest in Belize! A marked contrast with the surrounding jungle! This reserve is the home of Big Rock Falls, one of our favorite places in western Belize and the perfect place to go to refreshing. It can also appear in the nearby river in swimming pools where you will find a series of natural pools and mini waterfalls.
Explore ATM cave:
It is quite agreed that this is one of the best activities in all Belize! Actun Tunichil Muknaal is classified by National Geographic As one of the ten main caves of the world. It is one of the most important Mayan sites in Belize, since the Mayan caves believed that they were portals of the underworld, and many sacrifices were made there. A guided tour of this natural wonder will involve walking through the jungle, crossing rivers, crawling through caves, swimming through swimming pools, climbing on rocks and climbing stairs. It is a great adventure and a unique experience in life!

Walk in Mayflower Bocowina National Park:
This beautiful national park is only 11 square miles, but it is full of mountains, waterfalls, jungle, swimming spots and even Mayan sites. In addition, it receives many less tourists than other nearby reserves. I strongly recommend walking to the top of Antelope Falls. It is an adequate adventure with rope -assisted sections and steep ascents, you are rewarded on top with epic views and a secret place of swimming. Then you have the option to inform down or you can return on foot.
What a pipe in the Blue Hole National Park in San Herman:
When I think of Belize, I think of the tubes: it is an iconic activity that you cannot miss when you visit this country! The San Herman cave is the perfect place to do it, basically floats by a river in a huge inner tube and explore an incredible cave as you advance, everything while you learn about Mayan history. Subsequently, I recommend heading to Inland Blue Hole, which is also located in this National Park, a bright blue cenote, which is a great place to swim under the sun.
Experiment Belize Barrier Reef:
Belize is home to the biggest reef barrier in the northern hemisphere, which is so impeccable that it has declared a Unesco World Heritage site. I read the quieter waters in southern Belize to have the best experience. We stayed in Raye and explore the near Caye de Silk Caye and Rishing Bird Caye, where we were lucky to detect a large amount of turtles, eagle rays and nursing sharks while diving and diving. This is also an area known by the frequent whale sightings in season!
