The deployment of the goal AI function has been added to the platform for users of the United Kingdom in recent weeks.
A goal spokesman, the WhatsApp owner, told Newsquest: “If you need to solve a debate in a group chat or have a hot question that you want to answer to the side, you can now use AI as your own assistant.
“Meta AI can only read the messages he shares with him.
“Your personal messages remain encrypted from extreme to extreme, which means that nobody outside the chat, not even WhatsApp, can read, listen to or share them.”
Users can also request recipe suggestions or “restaurant recommendations in a group chat for everyone to see,” Meta advised.
However, although Meta ensures that it is a “completely optional service that can choose to use” and that the company is “constantly listening to users’ comments”: the function has called the attention of users who wish to eliminate it from the application.

“I don’t want AI to separate, but it’s hard for me to eliminate WhatsApp,” wrote a Reddit user.
“Everyone who I know uses it and will never consider an alternative, but I am not happy that the AI is not part of it,” said another.
“From now on [since Meta AI] I will count people to communicate with me on the signal and just refuse to use WhatsApp, “said one, referring to another instant messaging service.
However, despite the change, people say it would be difficult to leave WhatsApp behind.
A Reddit user said: “With some family members it is literally a matter of not being able to talk to them if we leave WhatsApp.”
