The Independent Police Behavior Office (IAPC) was informed after the persecution on April 18, near Beulah Hill.
Police followed a vehicle that suspended or had cloned numbers, trying to stop it on South Norwood street around 8.38 pm
After a chase of the letter, the vehicle pursued crashed into another member of the public vehicles on the A232 Wickham road in the roundabout with Shirley Road around 8.45 pm
The driver of the persecuted vehicle, a 63 -year -old man, was declared dead by the aroma despite the attempts to save him.
Six other people were tasks for the hospital, some with serious injuries and one in a life condition.
The IAPC was informed by the incident on that night and the researchers were sent to the scene and the procedures after the incident.
They have gathered the initial accounts of the officers involved and the video images used by the body available.
They also have ghosts for the man’s family and keep them updated as the investigation progresses.
Witnesses of the incident are asked in a “busy” path to be presented.
The director of IAPC, Amanda Rowe, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of man and all those affected by the collision, particularly those who have been injured.
“Our role is to independently investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and we are in the early stages.
“This is a path occupied in Croydon, and we urge anyone who has witnessed the incident or the moments before presenting and informing what they saw.”

A spokesman for the London ambulance service said at that time: “They called us at 8.47 pm on April 18 for reports of a traffic collision near the Junction or Wickham Road and Shirley Road in Croydon.
“We send multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance equipment, incident response officers, members of our Dangerous Area (Hart) response team and an advanced paramedic. We also send the London Air Ambulance.
“We treat seven patients on the scene. Unfortunately, a person was declared dead on the scene. We took a patient to an important trauma center and tok five patients to hospitals.”
R With the police spokesman said: “The MET Professional Standards Directorate was immediately informed and a derivation was carried out to the Independent Police Conduct Office (IAPC) Whatich is a required step every time vehicles are involved in a Dath.
“The IAPC will now carry out an independent investigation.”
