The descent of Welling United of the National League of the National League South League was sealed since they lost 4-0 at home against Maidstone United on Good Friday.
After his outburst at the hands of Hampton & Richmond Borough seven days before, Welling caregiver manager Brian Statham made five changes, some applied and other tactics. Gene Kennedy returned from the suspension and Jack Burchell, Scott Kashket, Dan Martin and Deon Moore were restored at the substitute’s bank seven days before.
Then, Quick had been withdrawn by the duration of Eastbourne County the week, while Maxwell Statham joined Chiori Johnson, Harvey Walker, Zain Walker and Dave Winfield in the lesions list. Finn Ballard-McBride, Josh Redfearn and Martell Taylor-Crossdale joined Tyrese Briscoe in the bank with the fifth seat that regulates me vacant. After playing four in the back in Hampton, Statham was by three with wing backs against the stones.
Jesus Davies had Welling’s first opportunity with a fierce impulse that became acrobatically through the crossbar by goalkeeper Alexis Andre Jr. Kennedy and then tested a curler that did not bend enough to enter the distant post.
It was Rhys Lovett’s turn to make a great salvation when he went down brilliantly to save a short distance shot from Ruben Shakpoke. However, he was well beaten in the 18th minute when Jacob Berkeley-Yyepong sent Aaron Blair and shot home from just inside the penalty area.
Davies hit another powerful long -range shot and again accelerated the ribbon before an injury in Moore Mani that had to retire with Redfear replacing it. Shortly after, Maidstone doubled his advantage when Temi Eweka went home from the corner of Ben Brookes.
Any hope that Welling had or returned to the game ended six minutes in the second half through a calamitous goal. Tj Bramble returned to Lovett and the normally reliable goalkeeper was lost his kick allowing Berkeley-Gyepong to rise in empty cleaning.
Andre Jr made another surprising rescue to collect the firm header of Scott Kashket before Maidstone added a room. Another poor step behind Lovett exposed and was wrong in his challenge and knocked Shaq Coulhirst in the penalty area. Brookes assumed responsibility and senter lovett in the wrong way from the place.
Althegh, half an hour, still remained, Neinder Side had another chance in Target and the first Welling descent from Step Two was sealed.
