The bank in 65 Eltham High Street closed its doors last summer, and the ground floor of the building has been vacant since then.
But a new planning presentation to the Greenwich accountant suggests that a possible tenant for the site has been found.
The proposals technically request permission to install a new ventilation system in the building, but reveal that an unnamed restaurant opens.
Planning documents claim that the restaurant can open without planning consent, since the building was already being used as commercial, commercial or service premises when it was a bank.
Althegh is not clear what the planned restaurant would be, its proposed hours of operation would be 7 am to 11 pm
An impact assessment of the noise of the ventilation system states that despite the nearest neighbor who lives on a floor above, noise levels would meet the “usual requirements” of the Council.
The planning agents for the application claim that the restaurant would provide a new food and drink outlet that “adds positively” to the mixture of stores in Eltham High Street.
“In addition, the proposals will generate additional job opportunities on this site, which has been vacant since Wetwest stopped trading here in 2024,” they add.
