A man has been accused of an accident that killed a police persecution in the A1 that left seven injured officers.
Five police vehicles were involved in the accident with a BMW near Denton Burn, Newcastle, just before 02:30 BST on April 9, Northumbria police said.
Mazyar Azaronyad, 20, or Sylvia Terrace, Durham, will appear in the Newcastle magistrates count on Saturday accused of dangerous driving, added the force.
Hey also faces two charges of not stopping a motorized vehicle when a required agent, two insurance useless charges and two driving charges in another way that is not in accordance with a license.
A woman in her 20s who was arrested under suspicion of helping and inciting dangerous driving was released without further actions to be tasks in relation to that trial.
However, it was released on police bail for crimes of drug possession, waiting for new investigations.
The A1 closed in both directions through the Tyne River, between Swalwell in Gateshead and Denton, for almost 13 hours after the accident.
