The Harold Hill Post Office, in Farnham Road, is no longer at risk of closing and, instead, will be franchiseed, confirmed the post office.
This means that a retail partner or a postal administrator could take care of the operation of the branch, although no more details have been announced about who could be.
A spokesman for the Post Office said he hopes to complete the Franchise for Autumn, but that the measure is “subject to government funds.”

The Harold Hill branch is one of the 108 direct postal offenses that will be franchise as part of a large business shake.
Nigel Rilton, president of the Post Office, said: “Moving to a fully franchised network is a part of allowing the post office to deliver a” new agreement for postmasters “, helping to create a long -term sustainable future for the Post Office.
“In the coming months, we continually work with our unions to make sure we treat our staff who work on the thesis 108 branches with care and respect through this transition, consulting with them about the proposed changes.”
Mr. Rilton added that the branches will remain in the same location “whenever possible” or move “near the existing location.”
It was previously feared that the Harold Hill Post Office closed permanently, after the business announced in November 2024 that it was “considering the future” or its directly managed branches.
A consultation that was held until March, the post office office met with the unions, the personnel and the local interested parties.
The deputy of Horchurch and Upminster Julia López also with officials and launched a petition as part of her campaign to ensure the future of the Harold Hill branch.
Mrs. López said: “I am so slippery that the post office has decided not to close its Harold Hill branch.
“This decision reflects the strong support of residents and companies.
“I will follow the discussions about the franchise of the branch very closely to ensure that it continues to serve our community, particularly because the Farnham Road area takes place in the coming years.”
A spokesman for the Post Office said more details will be shared on franchise plans with communities and interested parties in the next week.
