The boxes of members of the Jews of the largest bodily representation in the United Kingdom have condemned the Israel government for the “heartbreaking war” in Gaza.
In an open letter published in the Financial Times, 36 members of the British Board of British Jews said that “they cannot turn a blind eye or remain silent” in the face of the “renewed loss of life and livelihoods” as a result of Rendwed of Israel in Gaza.
The letter is the first show of opposition to the Gaza War by some members of the Board, composed of more than 300 deputies.
Responding to the letter, the Board said that it understood that about 10% of its members were signatory “and potentially other tremors” with their message.
The Board added in a statement: “Others would undoubtedly put more emphasis on the fundamental responsibility of Hamas for this horrible feeling and the need to ensure that they are prevented from repeating the atrocious crimes of October 7.”
He said that the diversity of opinion within the Board “is not different from Israel’s policy, whose democratic rebel sees a fierce exchange of views on these exucian life and death problems.”
The signatories of the criticism of the open letter The Israel offensive in Gaza warned that “Israel’s soul is being torn and we, members of the British Board of British Jews, fear for the future of the Israel that we love and have such narrow links.”
He pointed to the Israeli government, who said he had chosen “break the fire and return to war in Gaza”, instead of participating in diplomacy and agreed in the next phase of a high fire agreement.
Israel blocked the entry of food, medicines and other supplies on March 2 and two weeks later the war resumed. He said he did this because he does not accept a proposal to extend the first phase of the high fire and release more than the 59 hostages he still has, up to 24 or who believes they are alive.
Hamas accused Israel of violating the original agreement, according to which there would be a second phase in which all the remaining live hostages would be delivered and the war until a permanent purpose.
Since then, Israeli attacks have killed more than 1,650 people, says the Gaza Ministry of Health led by Hamas, including 36 attacks that killed only women and children according to the UN Human Rights Office.
On Wednesday, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) became the last international organization to sound alarm to the impact of Israel’s campaign, saying that Gaza had “become a massive tomb of Palestinians and those who come to their help.”
“We are witnessing in real time the destruction and forced displacement of the entire population in Gaza,” said Amande Bazerolle, emergency coordinator of the beneficial organization in Gaza.
Israel says it aims to press Hamas to release hostages and promised to maintain the blockade. He affirms that there is no shortage of help because 25,000 supplies charges entered into duration in the high fire, despite the UN warning of “devastating” consequences.
The Charter of the Board of Deputies said: “Directed by the families of the hostages, hundreds of thousands of Israelis are demonstrating in the streets against the return to war by an Israeli government that has not prioritized the return of the hostages, it is Oh to speak.”
Among the signatories was vice president of the International Division of the Board of Deputies, Harriet Goldenberg. She told the Financial Times that she and other signatories had decided to publicly express to her group after the Board of Deputies denied a request to issue a statement condemning the resumption of hostilities in Gaza.
Another signature of the letter, the lawyer Philip Goldenberg, told BBC Radio 4S World in a program that there is a “full range of views” among the British Jews “, and there are those who think we should not have done.”
Goldenberg added that they will be others “who share our views, but they don’t, for their own personal reasons, perfectly want to put their heads above the parapet.”
Israel launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack on October 7, 2023, in which some 1,200 people were killed and another 251 were hostages of tasks.
